Annual Meetings
The American Federation for Aging Research currently organizes two annual meetings for grant recipients. Both meetings are by invitation ONLY. For additional information on these meetings contact AFAR at (212) 703-9977 or .
The purpose of the annual AFAR Grantee Conference is to promote scientific and personal exchanges among recent AFAR grantees and experts in the fields of geriatrics and gerontology. The 2009 Conference will be held in Santa Barbara, California at Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort from September 13 - 15. A draft agenda is available here.
The Beeson Annual Meeting is held for Scholars, mentors and other leaders in academic medicine and aging research to review research progress of Scholars, encourage dissemination of their findings, and enhance development of scholarship and leadership. The 2010 Beeson Annual Meeting will be held September 22-25 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.
Open Conferences
Keystone Symposia has a number of exciting upcoming conferences featuring aging research:
"Alzheimer's Disease Beyond Abeta" will be held at the Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado, January 10-15, 2010. Read more here.
"New Insights into Healthspan and Diseases of Aging: From Molecular to Functional Senescence" will include featured speakers Dr. David Sinclair and Dr. Ana Maria Cuervo, both 2000 AFAR Research Grant recipients, and AFAR Scientific Director Dr. George Martin. AFAR also hosts scientific conferences each fall that are free to all researchers and other attendees. Past conferences have focused on imaging and the aging brain, biomarkers of aging and age-related diseases, and aging and cancer.
